She was a woman who never backed down, yet her heart was always open, lifting others when they were down and offering her time, gifts, and unconditional acceptance to everyone she met.
Vannessa's strength, both physical and mental, was remarkable. She had a deep love for the outdoors and animals, which led her to pursue a career as a veterinary technician. Her wisdom and responsibility was often ahead of her years, and she was the go-to person for advice, always ready to leap headfirst into whatever challenge lay before her.
Creativity was at the core of Vannessa's being. She was passionate about the arts and could often be found sewing, drawing, or doing crafts. This love of creation extended into her involvement in the furry community, where she was a well-known and cherished figure. Vannessa was generous, frequently supporting others in the furry community both emotionally and materially.
Her life was brightened by her lifelong love, Ethan Smith, whom she met in sixth grade. Their bond was unbreakable, and they were married on June 22, 2024. Even as she faced the challenges of cancer, Vannessa remained strong in her determination to live life on her own terms, often downplaying her struggles with humor. She bravely made those around her laugh, even when she was in pain. Her concern for others never wavered, even in her final days.
Vannessa's light and love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness and love including her husband, Ethan, and their four-legged baby, Mikey; her mother, Jennifer Farinas; siblings, Sierra Anderson, Brooklynn Farinas, Allison Brese, Bobby Anderson, Jr, Jordan Clutter, Madison Smith, and Matea Smith; Grandmothers, Kelly Tutor and Janice Smith, extended family, and many, many caring friends. She was preceded by her father, Danny Brese, and a grandfather, Kenneth Tutor.
