Terri Rivera

Aug. 26, 1962 - Nov. 10, 2024

Devoted wife, loving Mother, amazing friend, inspiration. Terri DeLynne Threadgill Rivera went home to Glory on November 10th, 2024. She was born in Odessa, TX, on August 26th, 1962 to Robert Lee Threadgill and Doris Robin Threadgill.

Terri never met a stranger and loved with her whole heart. She spread joy. She loved to laugh. She endeavored to make anyone she encountered feel encouraged and seen. She strove to be the Jesus we all should.

She began her time in the medical field at age 19 as an EMT. She quickly became a nurse's aide, handling work far above her title, eventually moving into nursing home care and home healthcare. This is who Terri was, she loved helping people. Her children's friends would often seek her for advice and even called her Mama Bear.

Born and raised in Texas, Terri lived many places across the state, including Odessa, Midland, Sonora, and Ozona. She eventually moved to Tulsa, OK, with her husband, Samuel Tijerina Rivera III, joining their daughter (Kristin) who had relocated to attend college. There they remained as a family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee Threadgill, in 1998. Upon which she kept the promise she made to her dad to look after her mother, Doris Robin Threadgill, all her days.

Terri is survived by her son, Christopher Lee Rivera (Christina), two adored grandsons, Levi Mitchell Alan Francis and Gavin Lee Phillip Rivera, her daughter and caregiver, Kristin Paige Rivera, husband Samuel Tijerina Rivera III, and mother, Doris Robin Threadgill.

Terri fought the good fight. Chose peace above all, had great joy, and loved as God has charged us to. Her favorite scripture was Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”

She is with Jesus now, running, dancing, laughing, singing, and praising the Lord. She is seeing those loved ones who have gone before, and will be first in line to welcome her family home into eternity. Until then, Always in our hearts and Forever on our minds, our Moma.
