Talon Michael Norgren
Aug. 10, 1992 - Nov. 4, 2024
Talon Michael Norgren was born on August 10, 1992, in the warmth of Mesa, Arizona, to Lydia Barnhouse and Michael Norgren. Talon spent his early years in Arizona, soaking up the desert sun and building his first memories. In his high school years, he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he attended Rogers High School. Talon was a dedicated athlete, throwing himself into both football and baseball. Though he enjoyed the thrill of the football field, it was baseball that captured his heart and devotion.
After high school, Talon enrolled at Northeastern State University (NSU) for a time, though his journey soon led him back to Tulsa, where he started work as a server. His charm, sense of humor, and quick wit made him a natural with customers, and even more so with his co-workers. Over time, they became more than just friends—they became family. Through these friendships, Talon found camaraderie and a sense of belonging that would last a lifetime.
In 2016, Talon’s life changed forever when he met Elizabeth Oldham, who would become his true love and, eventually, his wife. Their bond was deep and genuine, and together they welcomed their daughter, Eleanor. In Eleanor, Talon found another great love of his life, and fatherhood was a role he cherished with all his heart.
The other family members that held a special place for Talon were his grandparents. He had a bond with them that was extraordinary, which was something he considered very important to guard. Talon especially cherished his time with his grandfather, his “Gedo,” when the escapades they have when hunting and fishing.
As a young boy, Talon dreamed of owning a kennel so he could be surrounded by dogs. He never quite outgrew his love for animals, and though he didn’t fill his house with pups as he once imagined, he had a special place in his life for his pets. His cats, Voodoo and Yin, brought a certain calm, while his dog, Princess Leia, was a true companion. If it had been up to him, he might have adopted every stray he came across.
Talon had a warrior’s spirit, both mentally and physically, and he longed to serve in the Marines. Although circumstances kept him from joining, his life embodied the bravery, loyalty, and resilience he admired. Talon didn’t back down easily; he was ready to face whatever challenges life sent his way, especially when it came to protecting his loved ones. He somehow turned everything into a competition, bringing a playful spirit to his relationships. This fierce nature was often balanced by his warm loyalty and deep compassion, qualities that drew people to him and kept them by his side.
Intelligent and insightful, Talon often spent his downtime with a good book or laughing along to a classic comedy. Though he had a bit of a certain attitude, it was always tempered by a kindness that revealed his big heart. Talon’s loyal nature, sense of humor, and readiness to help anyone in need made him someone deeply cherished and unforgettable.
Talon is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth, and their beloved daughter, Eleanor; his parents, Lydia Barnhouse and Michael Norgren; his maternal grandparents and paternal grandmother; his sister, Josephine "Josey" Norgren; his stepbrother, Jerry Jasmin; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who became family.
A service to honor Talon’s life was held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Dawson Free Will Baptist Church, in Tulsa.

I wish I had the opportunity to meet you and get to know you Talon. Your dad, Michael was a first cousin to me on my dad’s side. We grew up in different parts of the country. I met him when he came to the family reunion in Sacramento years ago. When he was still in the military, I followed his FB page because he was such an amazing photographer. That’s how I found out that you were my second cousin. Someday when we are all together in heaven we will have to have a big family party and get to know each other. I’m proud to hear you accomplished so much in your short life. I too am an animal lover. Rest in peace Talon. - Jeanette Alley
Dearest brother, and I don’t say that lightly. You will hold a special place in my soul everyday. I will carry your knowledge and funniness with me for years to come. I will talk, think, cherish you in death as I did my entire life. This one hit home so bad because of my brother Steven Cryer. He is my OG brother but talon was from another mother! we talked about it for years and I was never one to call others family or reference them in a way that was never earned. Talon earned everything he ever worked for and strived for greatness. If you didn’t know him in life, you surely missed out! I’m so sorry for you and your family. I know life was hard and this will only hit worse. I hope god places his lovely hands upon them and watches over them for you. I miss you and I am so very sorry we didn’t stay in touch through the years. I love you so much and I can’t wait to see you to say my goodbyes. Or better yet, see you again and I’ll bring the beers. - Heaven Cryer
Talon, all I can say is you were one in a million! Your heart was bigger than life! Rest in peace buddy! Love you. - Mikki Renfro
