February 24, 2026

Sylvia Elaine Rumohr passed away peacefully, February 24, 2026, at the age of 69, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with her loving sons by her side. Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate a woman whose strength, spirit, and fierce love shaped the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Born on May 11, 1956, in Lake Village, Arkansas, to Lennie Nell Barley and William Leroy Franklin, Sylvia was lovingly raised by her parents, Nell and John Asby Burge.  During her early childhood she lived in Arkansas, surrounded by grandparents and close family, and the kind of close-knit family roots that stayed with her throughout her life. Those early years shaped her into the strong, resilient, and deeply loyal woman she became.

Sylvia moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a child, she graduated from McLain High School in 1974 and began building the life that would center around what mattered most to her — family. She married David Rumohr and raised her two sons, Bryan and Ryan Franklin. Her boys were her world. Everything she did — every long shift, every sacrifice, every hard-earned dollar — was for them.

Sylvia spent many years working for Albertsons Foods, where she was known for her tireless work ethic and straightforward honesty. She didn’t sugarcoat things, and you always knew where you stood with her — but behind that feisty exterior was a heart that loved deeply and protected fiercely.

She was independent, strong-willed, and full of personality. Sylvia had a special love for animals and found peace in simple joys — crafting with her hands, tending to her plants, and nurturing anything that needed care. She had a creative spark and a nurturing soul. If she loved you, you knew it. And if you were hers, you were hers for life.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Asby Burge; her brother, Walter Lee Franklin; and her nephew, John Aaron Sullivan, aka Dooley. We take comfort in knowing they welcomed her home.

She leaves behind her greatest legacy — her sons, Bryan Franklin and Ryan Franklin; her beloved granddaughter, Aubrey; her mother, Lennie Nell Burge-Lane; her siblings, Jerry Franklin (Kathy), Dotty Dooley (Chris) and Walter’s wife (Tammy); her cherished nieces and nephews — Stephanie Cooper, Cassandra Dooley, Makayla Dooley, Nathaniel Dooley, Tailor Franklin and Kendall Franklin. — along with many extended family members and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.

Sylvia was strong, loving and was one of a kind. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
