It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Verna Lee Ariza (Ethridge), who left this world on October 17th, 2024, in Broken Arrow, OK, at the age of 78. Verna was born on May 13th, 1946, in Vallejo, CA, and her presence touched the lives of many.
Verna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Joseph Ariza II, and her two sons, Michael Lee Ariza (married to Xiaoyun) and Joseph Wayne Ariza (married to Rebekah). Verna was a pillar of strength and love in her family, and her 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart.
Throughout her life, Verna was known for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love. She dedicated herself to her family, always putting their needs above her own. Verna had a passion for animals, calligraphy, arts and crafts, and flower arrangements, which brought beauty and joy to those around her.
In addition to being a dedicated wife and mother, Verna made significant contributions to her community. She generously donated to various charities over the years and played an instrumental role in raising many of her grandchildren, instilling in them values of love, kindness, and compassion.
Verna's personal traits were what made her truly special. Her unconditional love and unwavering support touched the lives of all who knew her. She never gave up on anyone, always offering a listening ear and a comforting presence.
A service to celebrate Verna's life will be held from 11:30 to 12:30 at the Woodward Park Helmerich Building. This will be an opportunity for family and friends to come together to honor and remember the beautiful life that Verna lived.
Verna and Michael's marriage of 59 years was a testament to the love and commitment they shared. Their bond was unbreakable, and the memories they created together will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved them.
In her passing, Verna leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and kindness that will continue to inspire all who were touched by her presence. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
