Thanomsri Narlam

1939 - 2025

Thanomsri Narlam lived a life defined by quiet strength, deep compassion, and unwavering devotion to others. Born and raised in rural Thailand, she stood out early on for her dedication to education and her drive to achieve. Her hard work paid off when she was accepted into the nursing program at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, one of the most prestigious and competitive schools in the country.

After completing her studies, Thanomsri’s nursing career took her far from home. At the age of 30, she was offered a contract with the New York Hospital System, bringing her to Manhattan to continue the work she loved: caring for people. Though she had traveled halfway around the world, her warmth, humility, and gentle smile made her feel at home wherever she went.

Through mutual friends, Thanomsri visited Tulsa, Oklahoma, where fate introduced her to Joseph T. Sanguansakdi. The two shared a deep and enduring bond, spending a year together in Oklahoma before she returned to her nursing position in New York City. Their love continued to grow over the years, and they remained devoted to one another until Joseph’s passing on August 25, 2019.

Thanomsri’s life was a reflection of her generous heart. She consistently put others before herself. Whether caring for patients, family, or friends, and did so with a gentle spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her kindness needed no words; her quiet, sincere smile spoke volumes.

In the final chapter of her life, Thanomsri found great peace and fulfillment in her faith. After many years of attending Bible studies and Mass, she was joyfully baptized in early August 2025 at Forest Hills Assisted Living by Father Archie Fernandez of Saint Benedict Church in Broken Arrow.

She is survived by her beloved daughters, Julienne (Julie) Cooper and husband Bryan Cooper of Irving, Texas; Marisa Rembert of Melissa, Texas; and her cherished granddaughter, Lauren Taylor McGhee of Catoosa, Oklahoma.
