Shea Joseph Burnham
1983 - 2025
Shea Joseph Burnham, 42, of Verdigris, Oklahoma, passed away in Verdigris on July 9th, 2025. He was born on May 13, 1983, in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Angelia Wortham and Wayne Burnham.
Shea grew up in Eufaula, Oklahoma, attending school there until 1998. He then moved to Verdigris, graduating with honors from Verdigris High School in 2002. Going on to attend Rogers State University on a scholastic scholarship until 2004.
Shea later moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where he lived and worked for several years. In 2015 he moved on to Denver, Colorado, working and pursuing a higher education, graduating magna cum laude from the University of Colorado in 2021. In 2022, he returned to Verdigris and worked in Tulsa until his passing.
Shea is survived by his mother, Angelia Wortham, and her partner Johnny Choate of Eufaula Oklahoma; his father and mother, Wayne and Melody Burnham of Verdigris, Oklahoma; his sister and brother-in-law, Lia and Dante Boykin of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister Rendi King of Humble, Texas; and brother Cameron Wortham of Eufaula, Oklahoma. He also leaves behind five nephews and four nieces, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom he loved dearly.
Shea was preceded in death by his Papa, Joe Mac, and Nana, Eloise Wortham, of Eufaula, Oklahoma; his grandparents, Lelia and Paul Burnham of Eufaula, Oklahoma; and his beloved aunt “PP,” Vickie Jones, also of Eufaula, Oklahoma.
Everyone who knew Shea knew how much he loved a good debate, clever wordplay, and making others laugh with his sarcastic sense of humor. He never missed an opportunity for a well-timed joke, or perfect comeback.
