Jeffery Lynn Smith

Jeffery Smith, age 63, of Seminole, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 17, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 9, 1960, in Seminole to Roy and Virginia Christine Smith, Jeffery's life was marked by his colorful spirit.
Jeff spent many years working in the oil fields before retiring from Max's Lube Shop to become a cherished "stay-at-home nanny-pa." He married the love of his life, Teresa Azlin, on April 17, 1978, and together they built a life filled with laughter, love, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Known for his infectious happiness and go-lucky attitude, Jeff was also an ardent OSU fan who loved hunting and fishing. He could often be found under an apple tree, where he would be working on his mowers and weed-eaters. Jeff also found joy in tending to his chickens, roosters and garden. His playful nature (pranks) brought smiles to many.
Jeff had a knack for making people laugh, and many stories surrounding his life have now turned into legends which continue to be shared among friends and family. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he served as a long-time member and deacon of the Lord's Community Church in Seminole, instilling his beliefs and love for the Lord in his family.
Remembered for his ornery but loving demeanor, Jeff's pranks were a sure sign of his affection. He leaves behind a legacy of joy, humor, and faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Christine; a sister, Donna McNeil, and one sister-in-law, Brenda Smith.
Surviving is his loving wife of 46 years, Teresa Smith, of the home; children, April Prieto and Chad West, of Seminole, Roy and Heaven Smith, of Seminole, Micah and Chelsea Smith, of Seminole, and Angel and Michael Whitlock, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Brothers, Dennis Smith, of Seminole, Kenneth Smith, of Enid, Oklahoma, Jerry and Michelle Smith, of Seminole and a special sister, Nita and Jimmy Moreland, of New Lima, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Mariah and Levi, Luis and Alina, Jason, Braylen, Faith, Brea, Alex, Stormy, Cameron, Sawyer, Faith, Cooper, Jovian, Korbyn, Easton, Lorraine, Michelle, Violet, Kenneth, and Khloe; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Everlee Jo, Everleigh Dawn, Winter, and Stella Rose.
Jeff will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A time for visitation will take place from on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 12:00pm - 2:00pm,
at the Lord’s Community Church, 501 N 5th St, Seminole, Oklahoma 74868,
with the funeral service beginning at 2:00pm.
Burial will immediately follow at the Little Cemetery, Little Oklahoma.
