Glen Earl Haggard

Glen Earl Haggard, 71, of Topsy, Oklahoma, passed away on September 13, 2025. He was born on October 18, 1954, in Vinita, Oklahoma, to John Jody Haggard and Iva Bell (Fisher) Haggard.

Glen graduated from Jay High School in 1971 and soon after moved to California, where he worked as a slitter operator of fine metals. Eventually, he returned to Topsy, Oklahoma, where he spent the remainder of his life. A talented carpenter, Glen made his living building homes and creating with his hands. He was known not only for his craftsmanship but also for his artistry—designing his own blueprints and building homes from the ground up.

In his younger years, Glen had a passion for music. He played bass guitar and sang in a band, finding joy in both the creative process and the company of fellow musicians. His creativity extended into woodworking and art, where his attention to detail and imagination were evident in everything he made.

In 1978, Glen married the love of his life, Vivian Joyce Swarer. Though they later parted ways, they remained connected through the family they built together.

Above all, Glen was a devoted and loving father. He is survived by his two children: Aaron Kay Haggard and partner David Vandevort of Coweta, Oklahoma, and John Justin Haggard and wife Hollie, also of Coweta. He leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren: Levi, Logan, Laney, Chassidy, Justice, London, and Lawson,

He is also survived by two sisters: Martha Neace of Decatur, Texas, and Marlene Robertson of Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters: Thelma Mae Wilson, Virginia Fay Swan, Joyce Marie Barnett, and Doris Jean “Jeannie” Sower.

Glen will be remembered for his giving nature, creative spirit, and unwavering love for his family.
