Eriyon Shanaye Tecson
November 19, 2000 - December 7, 2025
On November 19, 2000, a beautiful baby girl, Eriyon Shanaye Tecson, was born to LaKeisha Stephens and Eric Tecson, Sr. in Tulsa, Oklahoma. From the moment she entered the world, Eriyon radiated warmth, grace, and light. Her life was a testimony of faith, compassion, creativity, and love for family.
Eriyon attended Tulsa Public Schools and proudly graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 2019, with honors. “She also received a state football championship ring while serving as the team’s athletic trainer.” A dedicated and driven student, she continued her education at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO) in Chickasha, Oklahoma, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2022, graduating with honors.
At an early age, Eriyon confessed her life to Christ, and her faith remained an important foundation throughout her life. She lived her beliefs through kindness, humility, and a sincere love for helping others.
One of Eriyon’s greatest passions was acting. She started out at Pocket Full Hope under the direction of Dr. Lester Shaw. Eriyon pursued her love for the performing arts with enthusiasm and determination, performing with Performing Arts Tulsa and the Reel Talent Agency. Her work included stage performances such as Once Upon an Island and short film projects, including Good Robber. Just days before her passing, Eriyon had joyfully landed a role in a feature film on December 5, 2025, a milestone that reflected her growing talent and dedication to her craft.
In addition to her artistic pursuits, Eriyon had a heart for service. She worked with individuals who were mentally challenged, offering patience, understanding, and compassion to those in her care. Helping others was not just a career choice for Eriyon—it was a calling she embraced, dedicating her time and energy to bringing comfort, guidance, and hope to those in need.
Family meant everything to Eriyon. She cherished spending time with her loved ones, enjoying family fun days, thrift shopping adventures, movie nights, and celebrating seasonal holidays together. Eriyon love when it was time for the family’s reunion time. One of her all-time favorite movies was Hocus Pocus, a reflection of her playful spirit and love for tradition. Eriyon was also famous among family and friends for baking the best brownies in the world, a sweet talent that brought joy to many. She would sell her brownies to school friends and others.
Eriyon was preceded in death by her grandmother JoAnn Mayfield, great-grandparents Cleatus Q. and Marie Stephens, a cousin Alan Stephens.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving mother, LaKeisha Shanaye Stephens; father, Eric Tecson Sr.; mother-in-love, Traci Tecson; sister, Kyari Blackwell; brothers, Treshaun Tecson, Eric Tecson Jr. and D’Waylan McIntosh; grandfather, Donnie Stephens (Ann); aunts Cecelia Stephens, Regina Gray (Robert) and Louise Stephens (Ronald) uncle Ronald Stephens; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
Though Eriyon’s time on earth was far too brief, her impact was immeasurable. Her legacy lives on through her faith, her service to others, her artistic achievements, and the deep love she shared with all who knew her. She will always be remembered as a beautiful soul whose light will never fade.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00PM on Thursday, December 18th, at Tulsa Caskets + Cremation.
A funeral service to celebrate Eriyon’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church, 412 N 7th St, Sapulpa, Oklahoma, with burial to follow at Sharp Cemetery, near Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
