Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Mahan
June 28, 1953 – September 21, 2025
Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Mahan of Oklahoma passed away surrounded by loved ones after a life lived with joy, generosity, and fierce love of God and family. Born in Augusta, Georgia, Cindy grew up in Miami, Oklahoma, where she graduated with many lifelong friends as a proud War Dog.
Cindy was a vibrant soul whose passions lit up every room she entered. She found joy in gardening, dancing, music, painting, and drawing. A true music lover, Cindy cherished live concerts, vinyl records, and the artistry of some of the greatest musicians to ever play. Her gift for drawing and painting was a treasured talent passed down to her family, who continue to carry it forward.
Her heart belonged to Grand Lake, where she spent countless hours on the dock with a fishing pole in hand, teaching her children and grandchildren the art of baiting and choosing the right lure for each season. She also cherished her time sailing the Caribbean with friends, embracing the ocean breeze and the freedom of the sea.
Cindy’s love for animals was boundless—whether it was a stray in need of a home or a beloved pet curled up beside her, her compassion extended to every creature. Over the years, her animal companions included a skunk, a rabbit, cats, and many, many dogs. She believed animals were family, and they returned her love tenfold.
Above all, Cindy’s greatest pride was her family, friends and her animals. Her three children and her grandchildren were her most cherished accomplishments. She was the life of the party, with a laugh that lifted spirits and a smile that warmed hearts. Her kindness knew no bounds—she gave selflessly, helped endlessly, and loved fiercely. Cindy stood up for what was right, and her strength of character was matched only by her compassion. She was gracious, forgiving, and stubborn in the best way—just like her father.
Cindy is survived by her sister Judy Mahan; niece Stacey Kaze and her children Kaze Mauser and his wife Emily, their daughter Rylee, and soon-to-arrive baby Mauser; Stacey’s daughter Ellis and son William; nephew Chris Kaze and his wife Kelly, and their children Jackson, Weston, and Katie; sister-in-law Rhonda Mahan and her son Dakota Mahan and family and daughter Darcey Humphreys and family.
She is also survived by her three children: Cody Edmondson and his wife Miranda, who have a son, Hunter Edmondson and his wife Karlee. Cody and Miranda also have 2 daughters, Dylan, and Grace. Cindy's daughter, Kelly Corley and her children Trenton and Madden; and Cindy's youngest son, Shane Edmondson and his wife Jessica, and their children Espen, Enslee, and Adra.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Jean Mahan; her brother, Bill Mahan; and her nephew, Zack Smith.
Cindy’s legacy lives on in the laughter of her grandchildren, the warmth of her family, and the countless lives she touched with her unwavering kindness. Cindy is for sure in heaven, with her pole already in the water enjoying an eternal sunset in heaven. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
