Betty J Doyle

June 16, 1934 - May 3, 2024

Betty Doyle was born in Heavener, Oklahoma, to Oscar and Cloie Story on June 16, 1934. When Betty was nine years old, her mother remarried and Betty came to be known as Betty Driver until she married Truman Honeycutt, in 1952, at the age of 18 years old. She had her first four children with Truman. This marriage ended shortly after the death of her baby, daughter Linda June, and just prior to the birth of her daughter, Doris Jean.

Betty worked outside the family home all of her adult life. She helped establish and run a pizza business with her third husband until he died on the job in 1975. After, she began working Tulsa Daily Legal News, and retired from there after 26 years, at the age of 72. However, her favorite pastime was making quilts and specifically baby quilts for the local Tulsa Kids in Crisis organization, and all her grandchildren.

Betty attended many different churches during her life, until 1973, when she became interested in Jehovah's Witnesses. She kept the faith but did not get baptized until 1993, on July 30. Her last husband, Mr. Doyle died shortly thereafter and she remained single the rest of her life. Nevertheless, she said after everything she had been through, she had peace in her heart. Betty was fully committed to the life of a Jehovah's Witness, and while she often said she was proud of her fleshly family, and loved them dearly, she embraced her spiritual family as her own brothers and sisters until the day she died. Betty is followed in her faith by her daughter and granddaughter.

She is preceded in death by baby girl, Linda June Honeycutt; sons, David Sellers and Randy Honeycutt; and all four husbands, Truman Honeycutt, Jack Sellers, Jess Ingle, and Edwin Doyle. Survivors include: one son, Stanley Honeycutt, of Grove, Oklahoma; one daughter, Doris Jenkins, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law (who lost her own mother and treated Betty as her own), Elizabeth Honeycutt; two sisters, Zelma Turnipseed, of Anadarko, Oklahoma, and Mary Cunningham, of Kennebunk, Maine; one niece, and one nephew.

A memorial service to honor Betty will be held June 8, 2024, at 3:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of JWs 534 S Memorial Drive. You may also take part virtually through Zoom with the following information -
